Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is also known as lupus or SLE, and is an autoimmune disease involving inflammation, damage, and dysfunction of various organs or cells of the body.  Genetics and environmental factors play a major role in the occurrence of this medical condition, which occurs more in women than men, and is usually characterized by relapses and remissions.  Skin rashes are characteristic of this medical condition, especially on the face, while the presence of the LE cell in the blood forms a part of the diagnosis of this disease.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment for SLE is aimed at treating the dysfunctional immune system of the body as well as giving treatment for specific involvement of the various systems and organs in the body.  Ayurvedic herbal immunomodulatory agents are used in high doses for prolonged periods in order to remove the root cause of this condition and bring about an early remission.  Since the skin and blood are almost always involved in SLE, herbal medicines which have a specific action on the skin, the subcutaneous tissue, vascular structures as well as the blood are used in different combinations according to the presentation and severity of the disease.  Specific treatment for dysfunctional organs also needs to be added to the treatment.

An order once placed, cannot be cancelled. For exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden death of patient), we need to get our medicines returned in good and usable condition, after which a refund will be effected after deducting 30 % administrative expenses. Return will be at the cost of the client. Capsules and powders do not qualify for a refund. Local courier charges, international shipping costs incurred, and documentation and handling charges also will not be refunded.Even in case of exceptional circumstances, a refund will be considered only within 10 days from delivery of the medicines. The decision taken by staff of Mundewadi Ayurvedic Clinic in this respect will be final and binding on all clients.

The treatment package includes shipping costs for domestic clients who are ordering within India. Shipping charges are extra for international clients. In addition, international clients will have to select a minimum of 2 months' order since this will be the most cost effective and practical option.

With a full course of treatment, most patients with mild or moderate disease, get complete relief  with just oral medicines ; patients with severe and advanced disease usually require several courses of Panchkarma treatment along with prolonged duration of oral medicines for a complete remission. Since this disease is an auto-immune disorder, we also advise concurrent diet and lifestyle modifications.
