Meniere's Disease

Meniere's disease is also known as idiopathic endolymphatic hydrops.  This condition is caused due to a disturbance of the fluid within the semicircular canals in the inner ear, which are responsible for monitoring the balance and position of the body.  This fluid disturbance causes a buzzing sound in the ear, severer giddiness and vomiting.  This condition is also usually accompanied by hearing loss, which is transitory in the initial phase, and later on becomes permanent.  The modern management of Meniere's disease is with the help of medicines which reduce vertigo and vomiting.  However, these medicines do not actually treat the fluid disturbance, and therefore they do not cure the disease.

Ayurvedic herbal medicines can be judiciously utilised in the management of Meniere's disease in order to treat the fluid disturbance in the semicircular canals.  In this condition, the fluid is believed to lose its liquid nature and become more viscous.  Because of this, the body fails to register changes in movement and balance of the body.  This results in a feeling of vertigo, that is, a feeling of going around encircles and losing balance.  The herbal medicines correct the nature of the fluid and normalize the working of the balance apparatus in the inner ear.  Ayurvedic medicines also correct the feeling of vertigo and reduce the tinnitus or buzzing sound as well as nausea and vomiting.  Meniere's disease may also gradually affect the auditory nerve and contribute to permanent hearing loss.  Ayurvedic medicines which heal the damage to the auditory nerve can be used in this situation to reverse the hearing loss.

Meniere's disease produces striking symptoms which incapacitate the affected individual’s ability to move around normally for work as well as for day-to-day activities.  There is no satisfactory solution to Meniere's disease in the modern system of medicine.  Ayurvedic herbal treatment can significantly reduce the suffering of a patient affected with Meniere's disease and treat the symptoms in such a manner that the affected individual gradually returns to near normalcy.  Ayurvedic herbal treatment is usually required for a period of six to eight months.  Ayurvedic treatment thus has significant potential in the treatment of Meniere's disease.

An order once placed, cannot be cancelled. For exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden death of patient), we need to get our medicines returned in good and usable condition, after which a refund will be effected after deducting 30 % administrative expenses. Return will be at the cost of the client. Capsules and powders do not qualify for a refund. Local courier charges, international shipping costs incurred, and documentation and handling charges also will not be refunded.Even in case of exceptional circumstances, a refund will be considered only within 10 days from delivery of the medicines. The decision taken by staff of Mundewadi Ayurvedic Clinic in this respect will be final and binding on all clients.

The treatment package includes shipping costs for domestic clients who are ordering within India. Shipping charges are extra for international clients. In addition, international clients will have to select a minimum of 2 months' order since this will be the most cost effective and practical option.

With a full course of treatment, most affected individuals achieve stabilization or near normalization of Meniere's disease symptoms and are able to lead normal lives. Patients with very severe disease and having significant hearing loss may require a different treatment protocol.
