Dermatomyositis

Dermatomyositis is a medical condition in which both muscles as well as skin are affected, with inflammation the muscles causing progressive muscular weakness, while the skin displays a typical pink colored or dusky red rash.  Muscular weakness is seen in muscles which are close the to the trunk, and progressive weakness may cause complications like difficulty in swallowing, breathlessness, difficulty in raising the arms and shoulders, aspiration pneumonia, ulceration and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, and calcium deposits in the body.  Dermatomyositis is seen more in women in the age groups of 5 to15 and 40 to 60.  This condition is believed to be due to a disturbed immune system.

The Ayurvedic herbal treatment for dermatomyositis is aimed at treating muscular weakness as well as the skin rash, and also boosting the immune status of the body.  Ayurvedic herbal medicines are used which act on the muscular tissue and helps in providing normal nourishment to the muscular tissue through improved microcirculation.  This gradually helps in strengthening the muscular tissue and muscle fibers, so that they start to function normally.  Ayurvedic herbal medicines are also utilised to treat the skin, the subcutaneous tissue, as well as blood and blood vessels so as to reduce the inflammation and gradually treat and heal the skin rash.

The treatment package includes shipping costs for domestic clients who are ordering within India. Shipping charges are extra for international clients. In addition, international clients will have to select a minimum of 2 months' order since this will be the most cost effective and practical option.

With a full course of treatment, most patients with mild or moderate disease, get complete relief  with just oral medicines ; patients with severe and advanced disease usually require several courses of Panchkarma treatment along with prolonged duration of oral medicines for a complete remission. Since this disease is an auto-immune disorder, we also advise concurrent diet and lifestyle modifications.
